Sesame Street Videos II: The Shaming
I'm posting these, mostly, so that I'll know where to find them. There are so many, and I keep remembering them and typing in punchy, random keywords along with 'sesame street', and 3 out of 4 times they'll show up.
They (live action films, about things) were always my favorite part of Sesame Street. I could take or leave the puppets, finding myself both drawn to and completely afraid of Grover, but give me a live-action film with a child shouting or singing over the top and I would lose it.
Juice Popsicles!
Fruit Salad!
Put on your Kammikluk!
Chores!
Gathering Coconuts!
these segments were some of my favorites

Omg. O. M. G.
I could look myself, but since you're posting anyway...what about the one with the girl and her grandma making chocolate chip cookies? When I get cravings for cookies I also crave that segment. Reminds me of, sniff, days at home with my mom... (who is still alive, I just went and moved to a different state, LAME)

I bought an old-school Sesame Street DVD for my 4-year-old son and it is so fun. He loves it and especially loves Burt and Ernie. He loves how irritated Burt gets.

I still say "a loaf a bread, a container a milk and a sticka BUTTAH" when I make a shopping list.
We Canadian kids had some French language stuff thrown in that I also remember with joy.

I remember one about a plant that was droopy and these kids tried everything to revive it and then FINALLY after trying so many absurd things they watered it and it sprung up. The animation on that one was so funny. These are so great. Man I LOVED Sesame Street. It just isn't the same anymore.

Goddamn! Juice popsicles and fruit salad indeed! Although mesmerized by these as a young child, even then I knew that that peach wasn't ripe and that Mom spent a lot of money on all that fruit. Also, that, sadly, I would never have access to paper cups that all had different patterns on them.
Thank you for these. And I would be remiss if I didn't mention "a loafa bread, a container a milk, and a sticka butter." Word.
